Little Eaton proved today that they indeed one of the best or if not the best footballing side in the league , by a 3-2 victory over Marlborough Rovers.
Both teams started of f what looked a little nervous, until in form player Pip Cassidy coolly put Little Eaton ahead after a clinical finish. Marlborough tried in vain to repeat what they did in the first encounter this season, with a quick counter, but the Home team have learned well from the last game. The first half continued to be end to end with Little Eaton playing the fluent football and Marlborough reverting to counter with long ball, but with no avail. Half Time 1-0.
After the half time talks, both teams came out the blocks ready to carry on were they left off. Marlborough pulled a goal back with Jemma Wheatley by lobbing the ever impressive Little Eaton goalkeeper – Paige Evans. Little Eaton continue not to give in and kept the ball moving around cutting out any play from the opposition . Marlborough took the lead after Kelly Morgan scored a short range shot. Little Eaton responded with Summer Evans lobbing the Marlborough Keeper – Molly Sutton and Laura Weston placing a well taken penalty beyond the keeper in the dying minutes. Final Score 3-2 to Little Eaton
Well Done to Paige Evans , Hannah Limberger, Hazel Preston , Chloe Pountain, Rachael Hibbert, Rebecca Waldron, Pip Cassidy , Mel Fisher , Vicky Spargo ,Summer Evans and Laura Weston for all there determination , skilful and hard work.
