Little Eaton played away against last season champions Marlborough Rovers in what everyone knew was going to be a difficult game for both teams , has both teams are playing for honours.
The first half saw Little Eaton slightly on top over there opposition with some great teamwork and determination for which they set the pace of the first half and took a well deserved lead after a great cross from Mel Fisher for Laura Weston to head the ball in the back of the net. Marlborough responded straight away after a lapse of concentration, score 1-1. Little Eaton maintained the pressure for the rest of first half and were unlucky not to be 2-1 up half time after a scramble in the 6yd box and shot to be cleared off the line.
The beginning of the second half saw the game continue were it was left off in the first, with some great end to end football. With 20mins to go Marlborough made it 2-1 and were starting to look the more comfort out of the 2 teams as the fitness between the two teams started to show. Marlborough made it 3-1 with 5 mins to go and so end the final score.
Little Eaton showed today that they can push any team to the limits, all they need to do is maintain the pressure and continue to develop areas of their game.
