After a 6 week break, Little Eaton returned to league football with an away fixture at Ratby Ladies. Little Eaton were slow to start , with Ratby showing early signs of scoring, little eaton responded with a counter move , finishing with a great finish by Laura Weston who slotted the ball coolly under the opposition goalkeeper to give Little Eaton 1-0 lead. Laura Weston gave Little Eaton a 2-0 lead after the Ratby Keeper goal kick failed to reach one of her players , Laura got the ball and noticed the keeper coming off the line , Laura managed to lob the keeper from 20yds out to give Little Eaton an 2-0 lead. Little Eaton used the slight down hill advantage, along with great combination play from Pip Cassidy , Vicky Spargo Mel Fisher and Nicole Horton all linking up with the strike force of Laura Weston and in form forward Summer Evans scoring a further goal to maintain there lead and attacking domination of the first. Notable performances during the first half from Vicky Spargo, for her tried less runs down the left hand side often giving the opposition defence and goalkeeper a busy time. Mel ‘’ New Boots ‘’ Fisher who repeated Spargo performance on the right hand side. The ever creative Pip Cassidy who was more than a handful for the Ratby Opposition. All the above mentioned players came very close in scoring themselves.
Second half, Little Eaton made one change, by putting Nicole Horton in goals and giving Paige Evans a run outfield. Ratby came out a more determined side in the second and put Little Eaton under pressure in the early stages. Some great defending by Chloe ‘’ Pounbain ‘’ Pountain , Hazel Preston , Hannah Limberger and Shannon Slater, stopped the opposition early during the half. Summer Evans pulled another goal back after an assist by Laura Weston, 4-0 to Little Eaton Ratby for all there hard work managed to pull a goal back after the came off the post and in the back of the net. Summer Evans found the net a further 2 times after great teamwork. Notable performances in the second half Spargo ,Fisher , P.Evans , Cassidy and the back line of Pountain , Preston , Limberger , Slater and Keeper Horton.
