Binley Woods U16 0 Little Eaton Ladies U16 7

An impressive performance from the ever talented Little Eaton Ladies against a spirited Binley Woods team. Little Eaton opened the scoring after 15 minutes with a fine finish from Vicky Spargo after Pip Cassidy had cleverly anticipated the goalkeeper's throw and unselfishly laid the ball to Vicky. The second goal, 2 minutes later, was a debut goal for Alice Liggett with a cool finish after a fine free flowing move involving 4 or 5 Little Eaton players. Summer Evans added the third after a neat lay off from Alice Liggett, and then Alice scored her second after a superb cross by Mel Fisher. Mel set up the fifth goal for Summer Evans who then completed her hat -trick just before half - time after a great ball by Pip Cassidy. 6-0 was just reward for a very powerful first half display, and Little Eaton continued to dominate in the second half but only added one more goal, a fourth for Summer Evans after strong work and a neat pass from Katy Brown. Binley take credit for sticking to their task and not conceding any more goals. Their goalkeeper was particularly outstanding - making one magnificent save from the classy Mel Fisher

Little Eaton really do look a force to be reckoned with. Paige Evans in goal had a quiet afternoon, but commanded her area and was a constant source of positive support to her team-mates.All the full backs on display, Jade Burgess, Nicole Horton and Hannah Limberger were solid, dependable and used the ball well. The 2 centre backs, Chloe Pountain and Captain Hazel Preston were rock solid and looked very impressive. Pip Cassidy and Katy Brown totally dominated the central midfield area and regularly released the dangerous forward players. Mel Fisher created havoc on the right and Summer and Alice were always dangerous in their central striking role. The player of the match went to Vicky Spargo, she terrorised the left side of the Binley defence and put in a series of dangerous crosses with her cultured left foot. There are tougher battles ahead for Little Eaton, but they are a team with a lot of potential.
